12-Month Full-Time MBA


The 12-Month Full-Time MBA is an intensive program for three consecutive trimesters consisting of 46 units of coursework and 30 hours of co-curricular activities. Students in this program have sufficient applicable work experience (minimum three years) and previous relevant coursework to permit completion of an accelerated curriculum in three trimesters. Additionally, students from Graziadio partner universities complete the same sequence of coursework for the International Dual-Degree program.

The co-curricular courses are designed to enhance student learning in the areas of communication skills; critical thinking; integration and application; values and ethics; job placement and career development. Students will complete two (2) PGBS 501 Co-Curricular Activities (0)  and two (2) PGBS 502 Co-Curricular: Executive Speaker Series (0)  courses.

Global Business Requirement

All 12-Month Full-Time MBA students must complete at least 2 units of global content coursework by satisfying one of the following options:

  1. A global content course from any concentration.

  2. A one-week, 2-unit Global Business Intensive course hosted by partner schools abroad, led by a Graziadio School faculty member.

  3. A Going Global with Graziadio (G3) project spanning two PGBS 694 G3: Going Global with Graziadio - Global Business Development Practicum (0-2)  courses that are taken sequentially.

  4. One trimester study abroad at a global partner business school.

  5. An appropriately scoped global business directed instruction project.

Global Business Intensive Courses

Two units of credit may be earned by attending one of the Global Business Intensive courses offered at locations in Asia, Europe, Latin America, the Caribbean, and North America. These are short-term intensive courses which students take during trimester breaks.

 

The curriculum for the 12-Month MBA consists of three components:

Core Courses 34 units  
Career Seminar 0 units  
Elective Courses 12 units  
Total Units Required 46 units  

FTMBA program learning goals and outcomes state the educational expectations of student achievement for each degree program. These goals are defined by faculty members to clarify how they intend for graduates to be competent and effective as a result of successfully completing the program.

  1. Students must complete career development requirements before registering for the final trimester of study.

Electives


As part of the 12-Month MBA degree requirement, students will complete 12 units of elective coursework which can lead to a concentration. Concentrations are subject to schedule availability. Students need to consult with the Full-Time Program Office prior to pursuing a concentration.

Elective course availability will vary per term and year based on instructor availability, enrollment, and program needs. Although elective courses are not guaranteed to be scheduled on a regular cycle, students will be provided a choice of relevant options from the program’s elective list during course registration.
