Full-Time Graduate Program Offerings
The full-time graduate programs feature a portfolio of degree options focusing on various aspects of business and management, both domestically and globally. Students gain conceptual and analytical skills while applying theoretical concepts to authentic management situations. Degree requirements and features vary by program, depending on intended audience, undergraduate background, and applicable business experience.
The fall trimester marks the standard start term for all full-time programs. Some Master of Science programs offer a second start term in the spring. Specific program information are provided in subsequent sections. Classes for full-time degree programs are generally held at the main University campus in Malibu.
The annual academic calendar consists of three terms - fall, spring, and summer. The academic terms primarily consist of courses that span 7 weeks, 11 weeks, and 14 weeks modules. A typical full-time course load per term entails 12-16 units, comprised of courses that range from 0 to 4 in unit value. Due to the intensive nature of the curricula, full-time degree programs require a minimum of three trimesters to be completed.
A typical class size of 25 students fosters an in-class atmosphere of seminar style group dynamics. The community environment encourages collaborative learning. Team assignments are used extensively in most classes to expand the collaborative learning environment, train individuals to function in today’s environment, and encourage student contribution and participation in each other’s education. The academic experience begins with a required pre-arrival module that is completed asychronously and a virtual new student orientation. These elements are designed to prepare students for the start of their academic journey and introduce key resources and opportunities that are available during the course of the program. Additionally, all new students are enrolled in BSCI 650 Personal and Leadership Development Workshop (1) , which is designed to promote a cohesive learning environment and establish a strong foundation for interpersonal communication, personal ethics and values, and team development. This course is graded credit or no credit.
