Master of Science in Applied Finance, Real Estate Track


Master of Science in Applied Finance (MSAF)


This program is completed in three consecutive trimesters and consists of 38-39 units (with an optional fourth trimester). The degree is designed to prepare students for entry-level positions in financial services. Students enrolled in the Graziadio School’s MBA programs are not eligible to apply. Students in the MSAF program have the opportunity to select one of three tracks:  Financial Management , Investments , or Real Estate .

Students who complete the MSAF degree can apply and waive up to 20 units from the full-time core courses. This will allow MSAF graduates to obtain an MBA degree by taking an additional 25 units of MBA core courses, a minimum of 16 units of additional MBA elective courses and a 0 unit Full-time internship for a total of 41 additional units.

MSAF Program


The Master of Science in Applied Finance requires 38-39 units of course work and is offered in three tracks.

Real Estate Track


This track focuses on the finances real estate and investments in real estate. It prepares students to be asset managers who understand that Real Estate is an integral part of portfolio investments.

The curriculum for the MSAF Real Estate track consists of the following:

Core Courses 36 units  
Career Seminar 0 units  
Elective Courses 2 units  
Internship Practicum (optional) 0 units  
Total Units 38 units

Session A

Fourth Trimester


In the optional fourth trimester, students may enroll in a 0-unit internship practicum in order to apply their learning and gain additional experience prior to graduation.

Notes:


  1. Students must complete career development requirements before registering for the final trimester of study.
  2. Real Estate Elective limited to ACCT 641 , FINC 642 , FINC 646 , or LEGL 648 .
  3. Elective limited to ACCT, DESC, ECNM and FINC prefix courses.
