ACCT 641 Real Estate Accounting and Financial Statement Analysis (3) This course defines the nature and purpose of accounting and includes measurement of income, underlying assumptions, flow of funds, and analysis of performance. Also studied are basic internal information needs of modern organizations for planning and control; use of accounting, financial, and other data for management decisions, and use of financial statements to analyze a firm’s financial health, performance and future prospects including valuation methods and credit analysis. The course will apply these concepts to the real estate market and will explore the importance of taxation as a significant motivation in real estate investment and finance decisions.
