OTMT 625 Developing Agile Organizations and Leading Change (4) This course examines how leaders develop agile organizations that are capable of making effective and sustainable changes that drive superior performance. The specific course topics include multiple change-oriented leadership models, strategies for developing organizational agility and agile management practices, and frameworks and tools for leading change initiatives in complex organizations. Adopting a macro-organizational perspective, this course will examine the interactions among human resources, technologies, organization design, external environmental forces, and management practices that drive the development of agile organizations. This course will also examine organizational structure and design elements and examine how companies can facilitate transformational change and restructure to become more agile in the face of change. This focus will also address how leaders cultivate the principles and practices of learning organizations and a ‘fail fast’ culture that promotes experimentation, prototyping, and seeking feedback from the business environment. This course will also focus on how professionals and managers can lead change initiatives through change management frameworks, tools, and processes. The course will examine multiple change-oriented leadership models and practices that are aligned with the development of agile organizations. Lastly, this course will incorporate multiple leadership models, frameworks, and tools, including complexity, adaptive, and transformational leadership theories by utilizing a combination of leadership assessments, cases, client-based projects, and simulations. The course will include interactive sessions consisting of lectures, discussions, experiential exercises, and guest speakers.
