Return to {$returnto_text} Return to: Full-Time Programs

The Certificate in Socially, Environmentally, and Ethically Responsible (SEER) Business Practice allows students to complement their degree with courses and activities that will prepare them to understand the complexities of issues such as sustainability, corporate social responsibility, and ethics and how these tie into producing a superior product that generates financial growth. The SEER certificate has two components: (1) 8 units of course requirements and (2) service requirements.

The SEER Committee is responsible for approving SEER service requirements and, ultimately, the award of the SEER Certificate. The final capstone deliverable must also pass the Committee’s review in order for a student to receive a SEER Certificate.

Course Requirements

Notes:

Students who complete: 1) the Entrepreneurship concentration (i.e., ENTR 661 , ENTR 662 , ENTR 624 , ENTR 625 ), 2) a business plan (as the final deliverable for ENTR 625 ) that adequately addresses the four SEER macro-values (reviewed by the SEER Committee), and 3) all SEER service requirements (approved by the SEER Committee), will have satisfied the course and service requirements necessary to receive the SEER certificate. All Entrepreneurship courses are SEER certified and the final capstone course for the Entrepreneurship concentration (i.e., ENTR 625 ) substitutes for STGY 645  as the required course for the SEER certificate.

*Must be approved to receive SEER credit.
