LEGL 675 Environmental Law (4) At the completion of this course, the student will be competent to understand the broad application of major environmental regulation as it relates to business, giving proper attention to statutory detail; gain an understanding of the legally sensitive environmental issues and current trends of which business managers should be aware; take preventative steps to effectively avoid exposing oneself or one’s company to liability; utilize corporate or outside counsel to the greatest advantage; recognize and understand the diversity of contemporary environmental law, the separate classification of statutes, the manner in which the courts interpret and apply them, and methods of remaining knowledgeable with regard to important changes; and recognize the role of various administrative agencies in application and interpretation of environmental regulation. Prerequisite(s): LEGL 653 Political, Regulatory, Ethical, and Legal Issues of Business (4) .
